2012 Welfare Forum - BOOK NOW limited places available!
Fourth year veterinary students are invited to book their free place on the 2012 Animal Welfare Forum. The Forum provides an ideal informal opportunity for students to address practical welfare situations that occur in practice. The emphasis is on the practical application of veterinary knowledge.
The Forum precedes the final-year seminar organised by the Society of Practising Veterinary Surgeons(SPVS). We know from previous year's feedback that students find the Forum a useful and entertaining start to the SPVS weekend.
The 45 places are available are allocated on a first come first served basis. BVA AWF covers delegates travel expenses to and from Lancaster and meals and accomodation during the Forum.
Date: 6th and 7th July 2012. Location: Lancaster University.

BVA Discussion Forum 16th May 2011
The Foundation's lively annual event brings together members of the veterinary profession, Parliamentarians and representatives from relevant organisations, to debate important welfare-related issues with a view to influencing BVA welfare policy.
The 2011 programme included presentations on the impact of welfare labelling on consumer choice; reptile welfare and trade and the clinical and ethical arguments of different veterinary treatment choices.
Delegates were also invited to attend an evening reception at the House of Commons, following the Forum, hosted by BVA Honorary Associate Roger Williams MP.
