We're recruiting for an Events Intern


This is a new and exciting opportunity to join us and help improve animal welfare, while gaining valuable work experience.

During your internship, you will have genuine responsibility working alongside staff helping to coordinate our national education events.

We ask for a minimum commitment of one day per week for 3 months. The role is based in our office in central London. Whilst it is an unpaid voluntary role, reasonable travel expenses within London will be reimbursed.


Role Description

  • Helping to coordinate our national programme of student welfare talks at Universities and Colleges across the country.
  • Working closely with staff on the production of our annual flagship event; the Discussion Forum.
  • Liaising with speakers and delegates, as well as venues and sponsors.
  • Producing additional marketing materials and communications to promote the events.
  • Helping with the day to day administration of a small charity
  • Undertaking any other duties within the remit of the role as requested.


Person specification 

This role would suit someone with the following: 

  • Enthusiasm for the cause and the work of AWF
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure 
  • Confidence with IT 
  • Energy, flexibility and motivation
  • An interest in marketing, communications, and/or event management
  • Good attention to detail and an ability to produce accurate work 
  • High standard of written and spoken English
