Spotlight on the Discussion Forum: Q&A

Find out more about the Q&A session at this year's Discussion Forum, which focusses on influencing client behaviour for better welfare.

An animal’s welfare and wellbeing is in the hands of all those who own and care for them, so the ability to persuade animal owners to ‘do the right’ thing for their pets has become a crucial part of a veterinary professional’s role.

Many previous Discussion Forum sessions came to the conclusion that a solution to the issues discussed is for vets to influence their clients to more effectively.  This isn’t a skill taught at vet school, so how can we help the modern veterinary practice to influence their clients’ behaviour?

In this session experts in the field of human behaviour change will share their experiences in this fascinating field of work.  We will learn about what motivates behaviour and be introduced to practical tools that a vet could use in practice. There will be the opportunity to discuss whether it is part of a vet’s job to influence their clients and to what extent it could form part of practice.

Whether you work in an independent or corporate practice, this session will be relevant to veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and practice managers.
